About Me

Hi There

Firstly a massive congratulations on your pregnancy – you are embarking upon a very special journey and time in your life. I would love to support you to enjoy this time as much as possible and even out the inevitable bumps along the way.

I have been a Maternity Support Worker for over 15 years now… working alongside my family life. I am a Mum to 2 teenage boys.. both of whom were born prematurely and in Special Care Baby Unit for a time. My youngest son has a rare form for spina bifida and has had a series of surgeries over a 6 year period.

I work alongside the NHS Maternity Services ,as well as independent and private midwives to provide seamless care packages to enhance your experience of pregnancy, birth and the post-natal weeks and months.

I am privileged to provide care to many women and their families in wide ranging circumstances. I provide care in wonderful and calming birth centres across the North West as well as support women going through extreme obstetric emergency situations to deliver their babies… often in theatre for high risk surgical intervention. My experience includes supporting women to birth in their own homes as well. My role is to support you with zero judgement to deliver your baby in the way you feel most comfortable in the environment that suits you most.

My very diverse experience allows me to tailor the care provided to you and your family dependent on the circumstance and, of course always in line with your wishes. Even the most high risk of pregnancies and deliveries can be ‘normalised’ in so many ways with the appropriate support and individuals involved.

I know, and work in the hospitals in our region and see daily the different birth options available. I also have a vast network of contacts in all these areas to ensure we obtain the best care possible combined with your wishes and desires for your pregnancy and birth should you choose to give birth in hospital.

Having the current and up to date training and experience within the NHS really does help us work cohesively together to provide the care you want.

My goal is to support parents to feel empowered to start their journey into parenthood in the most nurtured and positive way possible. Please do call me to have an initial chat!
